Winter Solstice Chai
Get Hygge with this sweet and spicy Chai recipe!

Winter Warming Chai December 08, 2017 You'll Need:
5 cm piece fresh ginger, cut into thin slices
2 cinnamon sticks
2 teaspoons black peppercorns
10 whole Cloves
6 cardamom pods ( Crushed)
3 Star Anise ( Whole)
1 Whole Vanilla Pod scraped or 1 tsp of extract
6 cups cold water
6 bags of Organic black Darjeeling tea
2 cups Organic Vanilla Almond milk ( or add a sliced vanilla pod to the milk)
Monkfruit powder, Honey, Stevia or other Natural sweetener to taste , Alternatively add 1/4 cup golden brown sugar
​ 2. Method: Combine first 5 ingredients in medium saucepan on med heat and warm the spices. Lightly crush or break up spices with a wooden spoon or pestal to release their flavour. Add 6 cups of water; bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, partially covering pot with a lid, and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add the tea bags and steep 5 to 7 minutes. Discard tea bags. Add Almond milk and stevia (or sweetener of your choice). Return tea to Medium heat, stirring to dissolve sweetener, if using sugar. Using a Strainer, strain Chai into teapot and serve hot. ​ Enjoy!
